TUTIA SCHAAD

Tutia Schaad is a fashion designer, costume designer and Head of Study Programme Fashion Design at Macromedia University.

FASHION DESIGN
In 2009, after graduating as “Meisterschülerin” at Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weissensee and gaining work experience in Paris at Givenchy Haute-Couture, she founded “PERRET SCHAAD”, that established as one of the most inspirational fashion brand in Germany.
As co-owner and co-creative director of the label, she created and marketed 17 collections, showed during Fashion Week Berlin, in locations such as the Neue Nationalgalerie from Mies van der Rohe, the David Chipperfield Architects Berlin office and the Hardware Store Hellweg. The shows were greatly covered by the German and international press (FAZ, Süddeutsche Zeitung, WWD, Vogue Germany, Wallpaper, le Monde...), while the label dressed German actresses and celebrities as Hannah Herzsprung, Karoline Herfurth, Fritzi Haberlandt, Aino Laberenz, and Anna-Maria Mühe amongst others.
In 2018, Tutia Schaad founded her eponymous design company, meeting new challenges in interdisciplinary fields, with a main focus on design, arts, sustainability and innovation.

EDUCATION
Tutia Schaad has been appointed “Professor in Fashion Design” at Atelier Chardon Savard, Macromedia University in 2018. Since then, she took over roles such as Head of Creative Arts Faculty on Macromedia´s Berlin campus and later as Head of Study Programme Fashion Design.

COSTUME DESIGN
Since 2016, Tutia Schaad creates costumes for the productions of directors such as Toshiki Okada, Lola Arias, Christopher Rüping and Michiel Vandevelde, that premiered at institutions such as the Maxim-Gorki Theater in Berlin, Zürcher Schauspielhaus, Centre Pompidou in Paris or KAAT in Yokohama.
